On May 26, Washington, D.C. political law head Ki Hong and counsel Matthew Bobys, Charles Ricciardelli and Tyler Rosen presented “Lobbying and Gifts,” the final in a three-part Political Law Series. The webinar provided an overview of the key components of successful compliance programs that address lobbying and gifts to public officials. Speakers discussed strategies and procedures for compliance regarding traditional lobbying activities, such as efforts to influence legislation or rulemaking, as well as lobbying laws that cover government procurement activities. They also examined federal, state and local gift laws and reviewed commonly used gift exemptions and best practices for compliance.
