On November 3, Washington, D.C. securities enforcement partner Anita Bandy moderated the “SEC Division Reports” panel during the Financial Markets Association’s 31st Annual Legal & Legislative Issues Conference. The panel explored how the SEC has fared in the current administration; various hot topics, including ESG reporting and cybersecurity; the agency’s increased focus on SPACs, private funds and foreign issuers not subject to Public Company Accounting Oversight Board audit reviews; the impact of recent court decisions that challenge the constitutionality of the SEC’s administrative courts; and enforcement in the cryptocurrency and digital assets areas.
