ACAMS The Assembly Las Vegas

Alessio D. Evangelista

On October 1, Washington, D.C. white collar defense and investigations partner Alessio Evangelista co-led the panel discussion “The Buck Stops … Where? How Compliance Officers Can Help Protect Themselves From Personal Liability AML Issues” during ACAMS’ The Assembly Las Vegas. The session explored how to account for the impact of recent policy changes that may increase the scrutiny and risk compliance officers face; identify the factors government agencies consider when deciding whether to hold compliance officers personally liable for AML deficiencies; and implement the best practices to protect institutions and individuals from liability.
