On June 23, New York white collar defense and investigations partner Maria Cruz Melendez spoke on the panel “Commencing the Internal Investigation: Considerations at the Outset” at Practising Law Institute’s Internal Investigations 2026 program. The panel explored how to deal with whistleblower allegations, identify potential labor and employment issues during an investigation, craft an appropriate document preservation notice and manage the costs of an investigation, among other topics.
