On October 15-16, consumer class action litigation and mass arbitration co-heads Michael McTigue and Meredith Slawe and Skadden general counsel and white collar defense and investigations partner Lawrence Spiegel participated in the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s Retail Law Conference, held in Kansas City, Missouri.
- Mr. McTigue and Ms. Slawe spoke on the panel “Beyond the Fine Print: Strategic Consumer Terms and Privacy Policy Disclosures to Mitigate Class Action and Mass Arbitration Risk,” which focused on best practices for drafting and deploying consumer terms and conditions and privacy policy disclosures.
- Mr. Spiegel hosted the session “Ethics and Professional Responsibility for In-House Counsel,” which examined “current professional responsibility issues affecting in-house counsel, including conflicts of interest, confidentiality and privilege, and the ethical implications of generative AI use in legal departments.”
