Jiwon Choi assists clients in a broad range of competition issues, including litigation, cartel investigations, multi-jurisdictional mergers and abuse of dominance cases. Ms. Choi has represented companies in several investigations before the European Commission and national competition authorities. She also has been involved in proceedings before European and national courts in the area of cartels and follow-on actions. Her past experience covers state aid, trade controls, intellectual property and arbitration.

Notable examples of Ms. Choi’s merger control work include:

  • Rockwell Collins, Inc. in its $30 billion acquisition by United Technologies Corp.;
  • NXP Semiconductors N.V. in its proposed but terminated $47 billion acquisition by Qualcomm Incorporated; and
  • Key Safety Systems in its acquisition of substantially all of Takata Corporation’s global assets and operations.

Prior to joining Skadden, Ms. Choi worked in other international law firms in Paris and Brussels. She publishes regularly in professional and academic journals.
