Eliza S. Edlich
Bio
Eliza Edlich’s practice focuses on complex litigation involving intellectual property and related disputes, including with regard to trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, patents and licensing. Ms. Edlich has handled matters at pre-litigation stages and throughout active litigation, and has significant experience counseling clients on pleadings, motion practice and discovery, as well as on securing summary judgment. She also regularly defends clients in receipt of third-party subpoenas. Additionally, she has been involved in multiple corporate transactions in the beauty, technology, media and entertainment spaces, in which she has provided assessments of both intellectual property regulatory and litigation risks.
Significant representations include:
- NRD GP LLC and Nebula Research & Development LLC in a federal litigation against another investment adviser concerning trade secret misappropriation and related claims in connection with quantitative trading
- Accutar Biotechnology, Inc. and one of its employees in defending against a trade secret action brought by another biotechnology company in federal court
- the Ladies Professional Golf Association in federal court and international arbitration against one of its international partners
- Extreme Networks in defending against a copyright infringement action in federal court
- Metacapital Management, L.P. in a federal trademark infringement action against Meta Platforms, Inc.
- WCM Investment Management, LLC in pursuing trademark infringement claims involving another investment management entity in federal court
- Fortinet, Inc. in successfully defending, on appeal before the Federal Circuit, the dismissal of a patent suit against the company on 35 U.S.C. § 101 grounds
- Intuitive Surgical, Inc. in pursuit of counterclaims concerning false advertising and unfair competition in multiple federal litigations
Ms. Edlich also devotes time to pro bono matters and has assisted on multiple federal and state litigations involving intellectual property rights on both the plaintiff and defense side.
