Bio

Christopher Herlihy represents companies and individuals in a wide range of complex civil litigation in federal and state courts nationwide. He also has experience counseling clients in connection with investigations conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ).

Mr. Herlihy has advised clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, energy and health care, among others. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes civil litigation and at various phases of litigation, including discovery, brief writing, oral argument and appellate proceedings.

Representative matters include:

  • an international conglomerate in connection with the successful voluntary dismissal with prejudice of federal litigation relating to putative class action claims arising from the abandonment of two nuclear power units in South Carolina
  • a foreign financial institution in affirmative litigation arising from cybersecurity-related issues
  • a U.S. trust, trustee and foundation in long-standing civil litigation challenging billions in asset transfers to the trust under U.S. and foreign law
  • a U.S.-listed multinational media company in an investigation by the SEC and DOJ into potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act relating to the company’s former foreign subsidiary
