Barbra E. Kim
Bio
Barbra Kim advises U.S. and international clients on national security, international trade and trade compliance matters. She has extensive experience in export controls, economic sanctions and foreign investment reviews, including matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Ms. Kim previously served in the Office of General Counsel at the Central Intelligence Agency and as a foreign affairs officer at the U.S. Department of State. Clients value her combination of technical trade controls knowledge and strategic insights as a result of her government service, which enables her to distill complex legal issues into practical, business-oriented solutions.
Ms. Kim regularly counsels clients on compliance with the Export Administration Regulations, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control. She assists clients on a range of regulatory matters, including licensing, classification, voluntary disclosures, internal investigations, due diligence and national security reviews of cross-border transactions.
