Bio

Sal Minopoli’s practice focuses on representing clients in criminal and civil investigations and litigation involving the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory authorities. Mr. Minopoli’s clients have included financial institutions, health care companies, a Big Four audit firm, entertainment companies, C-suite executives and high-net-worth individuals, among others. His experience includes:

  • defending an individual in parallel insider trading investigations conducted by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the SEC
  • representing a senior executive of a publicly traded company in an internal investigation and parallel DOJ and SEC investigations
  • advising a major entertainment company in the offering of NFTs
  • defending a dually registered broker-dealer and investment adviser in persuading the SEC to terminate its investigation
  • representing broker-dealers and investment advisers in SEC investigations involving recordkeeping requirements, fee disclosures and insider trading policies
  • representing a Big Four audit firm in multiple government investigations stemming from high-profile events
  • defending an indigent individual charged for his role in a murder-for-hire scheme

Before law school, Mr. Minopoli served for six years as an officer in the U.S. Army, holding various positions of leadership and responsibility in combat arms and intelligence units.
