Elizabeth J. Perkins
Bio
Elizabeth Perkins represents financial services, insurance, pharmaceutical and health care companies in a wide range of complex civil litigation and government investigations. Ms. Perkins has defended clients in both civil matters and white collar criminal prosecutions in a variety of sectors.
Ms. Perkins’s representations include:
- defending financial services, pharmaceutical and health care companies in connection with civil and criminal investigations conducted by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, state attorneys general and state regulatory agencies
- representing multiple global insurance companies in post-closing disputes arising from mergers, acquisitions and reinsurance transactions
- defending multiple public companies and securing the dismissal of putative securities class actions brought under Section 10(b) of the Securities and Exchange Act
- counseling global pharmaceutical and medical device companies in mediations and arbitrations arising from supply and distribution agreements
- conducting internal investigations in connection with the federal Anti-Kickback Statute and financial auditing standards
In recognition of her work, Ms. Perkins has been named one of Best Lawyers’ Ones To Watch in America.
Ms. Perkins maintains an active pro bono practice, which has included securing permanent resident status for individuals in removal proceedings in federal court and representing victims of human trafficking under the Federal Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act. In 2020, Ms. Perkins was honored along with other Skadden attorneys as the recipient of the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Nery Arrano Award.
