Romain Perrois advises clients on EU, French, U.K. and international antitrust aspects of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. He has been involved in several high-profile and complex merger control cases in transactions requiring international antitrust merger control approvals, both in Europe and globally.
His recent representations include:
- Red Hat, Inc. in its acquisition by IBM in an all-cash transaction valued at US$34 billion;
- Ecolab in the US$4.4 billion merger of its upstream energy business with Apergy;
- Gilead Sciences, Inc. in its US$5.1 billion transaction with Galapagos NV. This transaction was named M&A Deal of the Year at the IFLR1000 Europe 2020 Awards; and
- Viagogo in its US$4.05 billion acquisition of StubHub from eBay.
Mr. Perrois also advised companies in several antitrust investigations before the European Commission, including representing Thomas Cook in the EC’s Holiday Pricing investigation. Prior to joining Skadden, he worked in the Brussels and Paris offices of other international law firms.
