Raza Rasheed represents clients in a wide range of complex civil matters in state and federal courts and private arbitrations, with a particular focus on shareholder derivative suits, securities class actions and trade secret misappropriation actions. In recognition of his work, Mr. Rasheed was named one of Best Lawyers’ 2024 Ones To Watch in America.

Among others, he has represented:

  • Monsanto Company in securing a unanimous defense verdict (reached after three hours of deliberations) following a seven-week jury trial in Cook County, Illinois, against claims brought by four plaintiffs who alleged that they developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma after being exposed to Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer and fire-retardant additives known as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) made by the company
  • Baidu, Inc. and two of its senior officers in securing the dismissal of a federal securities class action alleging that the company had misrepresented its ability to comply with Chinese internet content regulations in a series of 12 public statements spanning more than a year. This case was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Verdicts of 2021 in California
  • a major shared workspace company in securing a stay of a pair of shareholder derivative lawsuits against the company’s directors, officers and investors
  • a clinical trials company in obtaining a stay of a derivative lawsuit brought by the company’s founders, followed by a favorable settlement
  • a leading health insurance company in obtaining dismissal with prejudice of derivative claims brought against the company’s senior leadership team
  • a major Chinese e-commerce operator in defending against federal securities claims brought in California state court
  • the CEO of a Fortune 500 company in litigation brought by a former business associate
  • a major roofing materials manufacturer in trade secret litigation brought by a competitor
  • foreign investors in a California-based cannabis growing business in obtaining a favorable settlement of employment litigation with the business’s former CEO
  • a cryptocurrency developer in obtaining a favorable settlement of a securities arbitration brought by an investor
