Johanna A. Zaid van Giffen
Bio
Ms. van Giffen counsels sponsors of open-end and closed-end funds across a variety of asset classes on all aspects of their fund formation and fundraising activities, with a particular focus on high-net-worth and fund-of-funds products. She has worked with sponsors on their initial funds, successor funds, co-investment funds and continuation funds, with fundraises ranging in size from $100 million to $3 billion.
Ms. van Giffen also advises U.S. and international institutional investors — including endowments, pension funds, funds of funds, sovereign wealth funds, private foundations and family offices — on their private fund-related investments. She has experience representing investors in connection with a variety of investments across asset classes in private funds, including seed investments, joint ventures, co-investments, funds of one and separately managed accounts, as well as advising clients on ongoing investment concerns and purchases and/or sales of secondary investments.
