TJ Wells represents asset management firms and other financial institutions in a broad range of matters in connection with their investment advisory and other activities.

Bio

Mr. Wells advises sponsors on the development, structuring, marketing, operation and regulation of private funds, including private equity, private real estate, venture capital and hedge funds. He also represents significant investors, such as pension funds and other institutional investors, in their investments in private funds. Additionally, he counsels investment advisers and family offices in negotiating compensation arrangements and employment matters.

Mr. Wells has extensive experience advising private banks and wealth managers in their investment advisory activities across all asset classes — including private funds, managed accounts and investment mandates — and as placement agents for alternative investment products, including private equity, private real estate, venture capital and hedge funds.

Additionally, Mr. Wells has represented clients in pro bono immigration matters and has been named as a recipient of the Jeremy G. Epstein Award from the City Bar Justice Center.

Mr. Wells began his legal career at Skadden, returning to the firm after holding in-house counsel and business positions in the alternative investments groups of two major international financial institutions.
