Cliff Sloan, vice president of business affairs and general counsel of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI) will join the Intellectual Property Group of Skadden, Arps as a partner in June. Mr. Sloan will be resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office and will advise clients on intellectual property, new media and litigation matters, including appellate issues. Mr. Sloan has served as general counsel at WPNI, The Washington Post Company's online media subsidiary, since 2000. Previously, he has served as associate counsel to the president of the United States, assistant to the solicitor general and law clerk to U. S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
