Skadden is representing Altimo Holdings & Investments Ltd. in connection with its intention (with Telenor ASA) to combine OJSC Vimpelcom and Kyivstar in a telecom deal worth US$30 billion, announced October 5, 2009. Vimpelcom is a New York Stock Exchange-listed Russian telecom operator in which Altimo and Telenor own an approximately 70 percent stake. Kyivstar is a Ukrainian telecom operator owned entirely by Altimo and Telenor. The resulting company will be listed on the NYSE and will provide integrated mobile and fixed telecom services in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries, as well as Georgia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
