Skadden won nine awards at the 2010 Turnaround Atlas Awards, held June 17 in Chicago. The annual awards honor performances from the restructuring, turnaround and special situation M&A deal communities.
The firm's work on Delphi Corporation's reorganization won Corporate Turnaround Deal of the Year in the $5 billion+ category. The Firm also won awards for Turnaround of the Year ($500 million+) for its work with Interstate Bakeries, Pre-packaged Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year ($1 billion+) for CIT Group, Cross-border Special Situation M&A Deal of the Year for the acquisition of Hartmarx Corporation, and Recapitalization of the Year for Westwood One, Inc.
Corporate restructuring co-head Jack Butler won the Restructuring Lawyer of the Year award in the Large Markets category. Skadden also won three Industry Turnaround Awards of the Year, in the Energy Industry & Services category for the acquisition of certain assets from Pacific Energy Resources Ltd., in the Financial Industry category for the pre-packaged reorganization of J. G. Wentworth, and in the Telecom & Technology category for Charter Communications, Inc.
