Skadden is representing HCP, Inc. in its $2.4 billion offering of senior unsecured notes, the largest real estate investment trust bond offering ever, announced January 20.
HCP is an S&P 500 REIT that invests in real estate serving the health care industry. In December 2010, Skadden represented HCP in its $6.1 billion acquisition of the senior living facilities of HCR ManorCare, Inc., which was the largest real estate deal of the year and included both the largest REIT follow-on offer and largest commercial lease in U.S. history.
