Wesco Prevails in Deal Litigation

Skadden represented the special committee of Wesco Financial Corp. in a proposed shareholder class action that sought to enjoin Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s $548 million acquisition of the remaining Wesco shares Berkshire did not own. On May 10, Vice Chancellor Travis J. Laster of the Delaware Court of Chancery denied the plaintiff's motion for preliminary injunction, allowing the transaction to proceed as planned.
