NHL Enterprises Settles Class Action Over Winter Classic Tickets

Skadden secured the settlement of a putative class action against the Philadelphia Flyers, team owner Comcast Spectacor and firm client NHL Enterprises brought by a group of season ticketholders who claimed the Flyers breached its contract (induced by NHLE) by requiring that the plaintiffs separately purchase tickets to the NHL Winter Classic game even though such tickets allegedly had been promised and sold to them already as part of their season packages. Under the settlement, filed December 12 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, eligible class members will have the option of choosing between vouchers for Flyers-related merchandise or food and beverage credits.
