For six years, Dr. Sessler has been Chief Counsel Litigation at Siemens AG in Munich and for more than ten years before that was a partner at a top international law firm in Frankfurt. Dr. Sessler is also a CEDR-accredited mediator, and has served on various arbitration related institutions such as the DIS Advisory Board, ICC Commission on Arbitration, ICC National Committee Germany, AAA Board and ICSID Panel of Conciliators for Germany. Recently Dr. Sessler was appointed to serve on the Governing Board of ICCA.

Bernd Mayer, leader of Skadden’s German offices, said: “We are delighted that Anke is joining us. Not only will she bring German litigation and arbitration capability, but she will also be a valuable anchor point for German and European clients in complex worldwide litigation and arbitration. We expect this to be a significant growth area.”

Executive Partner Eric Friedman said: “Due to client demand we are adding another dimension to our German practice. Anke’s experience in dispute resolution complements our corporate practice in Germany and also enhances our European arbitration and litigation practice, led from London. This is our fourth partner hire in the last two years in Germany.”
