WASHINGTON, D.C., August 29, 2016 – Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is pleased to announce that Tara Reinhart, current chief trial counsel for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Bureau of Competition, will rejoin the firm's Antitrust and Competition Group as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office. Her practice will focus on civil litigation and government investigations, with an emphasis on complex antitrust litigation and international cartel probes.
Over the past two years, Ms. Reinhart has led FTC trial teams through two preliminary injunction proceedings and prepared for litigation in many other merger investigations. Notably, she led a team to victory in the FTC’s challenge to Staples' proposed acquisition of Office Depot, one of the FTC's highest-profile merger litigation successes in over a decade.
Throughout her career, Ms. Reinhart has advised clients across numerous industries in connection with criminal and civil investigations brought by the FTC, the Department of Justice Antitrust Division and state attorneys general. She has represented clients in class actions, including multidistrict litigations and cases involving reverse payment claims as well as allegations of price-fixing and monopolization. She also has worked on major cartel matters involving both foreign and domestic clients and has handled grand jury investigations.

Ms. Reinhart was a counsel in Skadden's Washington, D.C. office from 2007 to 2014. Earlier in her career, she was a partner at another large corporate law firm. Ms. Reinhart received her J.D., cum laude, from The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
