Skadden is pleased to announce that Jennifer Permesly will join the firm's International Litigation and Arbitration Group as counsel in the New York office.
Ms. Permesly, who joins from a highly regarded international arbitration boutique firm in New York, focuses on international arbitration and U.S.-based litigation for clients around the world. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Permesly frequently handles complex commercial disputes for Latin American companies in various sectors, including energy, gas, construction, mining and asset management, among others. She also represents parties in investment treaty and public international law disputes.

Ms. Permesly is the most recent addition to the practice, which also recently announced the addition of Chiann Bao, former secretary-general of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, to the Hong Kong office and promoted Gregory Litt to partner in New York.

Ms. Permesly is recognized as a leading lawyer in international arbitration by Chambers USA and Chambers Latin America. She played an integral role in establishing the New York International Arbitration Center in 2011, where she currently serves as treasurer.
Prior to her work in private practice, Ms. Permesly clerked for Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York from 2006 to 2007. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from Florida State University, summa cum laude.
