On behalf of Debra L. Reed, Sempra Energy's chairwoman, president and CEO, Skadden secured the dismissal of a putative securities class action arising out of a natural gas leak at the Aliso Canyon underground natural gas storage facility. On March 26, Judge Roger T. Benitez of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California granted the defendants' joint motion to dismiss all claims with prejudice, holding that the plaintiffs failed to plausibly allege scienter.
