In an award rendered on August 3 by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Skadden obtained a significant victory for the Qatar Football Association, securing the complete dismissal of a case brought against it by the United Arab Emirates Football Association that questioned the eligibility of Qatari football players. A panel of three CAS arbitrators concluded that there was no merit to UAE Football Association’s claims and FIFA’s eligibility requirements had been satisfied.
