Skadden held its annual Government Affairs Compliance and Pay-to-Play Restrictions Seminar on May 18. The seminar explained the laws and regulations — and discussed best practices — related to pay-to-play, lobbying and campaign finance, as well as gifts and entertainment to public officials. The seminar also included overviews of the pay-to-play rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB), Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as SEC and MSRB municipal advisor rules. Skadden speakers included Washington, D.C. political law partners Ki Hong and Kenneth Gross; counsel Melissa Miles, Matthew Bobys and Charlie Ricciardelli; associates Tyler Rosen and Shayla Parker; and reports analysts Kelvin Reese, Brien Bonneville and John Mannion. Politico’s Jake Sherman delivered the keynote address. A networking reception was held the evening prior to the program.
