Good Tools, Bad Content: Protecting Children in the Age of Social Media and Mobile Applications

Palo Alto intellectual property and technology counsel Carrie LeRoy gave a talk November 10 via videoconference to Skadden's Chicago office, "Good Tools, Bad Content: Protecting Children in the Age of Social Media and Mobile Applications." She identified the various social media platforms, explained cyber-crimes (harassment, stalking and bullying) and provided real-life examples of the legal implications when children use social media inappropriately. Carrie is the leader of a pro bono program in Palo Alto focused on educating Bay Area teens about laws relating to social media usage.
