On November 15, the firm presented "A Dialogue With Corporate Counsel: Skadden's Sixth Annual Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Seminar — Enforcement and Litigation Strategies." The sixth annual seminar for in-house lawyers and regulatory professionals at pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies focused on the most pressing legal and business topics of the day, with a focus on government enforcement actions and securities litigation. Speakers shared practical strategies for overcoming litigation challenges and succeeding in the marketplace.

Boston partner Michael Loucks, Washington, D.C. partner John Bentivoglio and Dan Curto of Biogen Inc. provided a "DOJ and OIG Enforcement Update." The group broke into roundtable discussions covering topics such as patient assistance and reimbursement, the Anti-Kickback Statute, continuing risks of pharmaceutical and device companies, and handling whistleblower cases from within. Roundtable discussions were led by Washington, D.C. partners Jennifer Bragg and Gregory Luce, New York partner David Schwartz, Boston counsel Maya Florence and Alexandra Gorman, and Washington, D.C. associate Avia Dunn. Finally, Palo Alto partner Jack DiCanio and associate Patrick Hammon presented on "U.S. v. FedEx Corp. et al. — An Insider's View."
