Opportunity Zone Funds Update: Outlook After Second Round of Proposed Regulations

On June 4, Chicago tax partners David Levy and Nickolas Gianou held a webinar titled “Opportunity Zone Funds Update: Outlook After Second Round of Proposed Regulations.” The webinar focused on the second set of proposed regulations concerning the taxation of qualified opportunity zone funds and their investors, which were recently released by the Treasury Department and the IRS. The webinar provided insight into the new proposal, which aims to address a number of unresolved concerns from the initial set of proposed regulations and establish a framework under which investors would be able to move forward with opportunity zone projects.
