Navigating the Future Competition Environment

On March 10, Skadden held a webinar titled “Navigating the Future Competition Environment.” Speakers included New York antitrust/competition head Karen Lent and partner Maria Raptis and Washington, D.C. antitrust/competition head Tara Reinhart and partner Julia York. The speakers discussed Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission enforcement in the future competition landscape. Topics included the U.S. government’s efforts to expand existing case law; the scope and limits of the Department of Justice’s “killer acquisition” theory, including its use in retrospective merger challenges; the impact of recent legislative proposals; and how the Biden administration might approach the current slate of issues.
