American Bar Association’s White Collar Crime 2023 Conference

On March 1-3, Washington, D.C. white collar defense and investigations partner Jessie K. Liu and counsel Mayra Suarez participated in the American Bar Association’s White Collar Crime 2023 Conference held in Miami. Ms. Suarez spoke at a session titled “Significant Legal Developments in the Regions: Northeast Region.” Topics included a review of recent enforcement actions and developments and trends in litigating white collar cases; and an understanding of trends across the country. Ms. Liu spoke on a panel titled “Meeting Expectations of DOJ and the SEC for Your Compliance Program,” which included a discussion of designing and implementing an effective compliance program, best practices to meet DOJ and SEC compliance expectations, CEO and COO certification requirements in negotiating corporate resolution agreements and the latest developments in DOJ and SEC enforcement practices.
