On June 4, Skadden hosted the webinar “Navigating Conflicts When Private Sector Employees Join the Public Sector.” Speakers included political law compliance and investigations head Ki Hong, Washington, D.C. partner Charles Ricciardelli and associate Sam Rothbloom. Topics included bans on government contracts that can be triggered when a company employee holds a public position, complications resulting from requirements that appointees disclose, myths and realities regarding working with blind trusts to resolve conflict issues, key restrictions involving dual-hatted employees’ participation in certain matters, potential disqualification from RFPs as a result of dual-hatted employees’ participation in procurement matters and cooling off periods that may apply when an executive returns from government service.
