Utilities' Build-Transfer Deals Spur Renewable Projects

Increased utility ownership of renewable energy projects may have broad implications for the renewable energy market in those parts of the U.S. where vertically integrated utilities continue to own generating fleets. Ultimately, the result may be increased deployment of renewable energy, but under different ownership structures, with different challenges, risks and rewards for participants.
