Drew Barber advises global companies on significant merger and acquisition transactions and a variety of other corporate matters, including counseling boards of directors on corporate governance, crisis management and securities law. In addition to his M&A work, he has extensive experience in aerospace and defense matters, including a broad range of commercial transactions, export control matters, investigations and government relations.

Bio

Mr. Barber has handled complex public and private mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, carve-outs, tender offers and strategic partnerships. He has counseled clients in a broad range of industries, including aerospace and defense, manufacturing, technology, financial services and real estate.

Mr. Barber rejoined Skadden after holding senior executive leadership positions at a multinational Fortune 100 aerospace and defense company and its affiliates, most recently serving as senior vice president and general counsel. In that capacity, he oversaw the legal, contracts and compliance functions, which included negotiating major commercial transactions and litigation settlements with key customers and suppliers, overseeing export controls, cybersecurity and government contracting, and advising C-suite leaders on critical business and legal risks. Previously, Mr. Barber served as chief of staff to the chairman and CEO of the company, counseling on board and investor engagement, crisis management and multibillion-dollar M&A transactions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Barber was an associate at Skadden, advising clients on M&A, capital markets, corporate governance and general corporate and securities matters.
