F. Joseph Ciani-Dausch represents clients in antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions, litigation at the trial and appellate court levels, arbitration and counseling.

Bio

Mr. Ciani-Dausch has experience representing clients spanning a wide spectrum of economic sectors, including defense, plastics, pharmaceuticals, mining, satellites, chemicals, industrial products and pharmacy benefit management. Mr. Ciani-Dausch has advised clients on a number of notable transactions, including:

  • DigitalGlobe, Inc. in its $900 million acquisition of GeoEye, Inc.;
  • Express Scripts, Inc. in its $29.1 billion acquisition of Medco Health Solutions; and
  • Corning, Inc. in its $730 million acquisition of Becton Dickinson’s Discovery Labware unit.

Mr. Ciani-Dausch’s experience in litigation matters includes representing:

  • Express Scripts, Inc. in a private antitrust challenge to its acquisition of Medco Health Solutions;
  • Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in an action against Eli Lilly and Company for antitrust violations and breach of contract; and
  • De Beers in connection with multiple federal and state class actions involving gem diamonds, both at the trial and appellate levels.

Mr. Ciani-Dausch has taught professional responsibility at Cornell Law School. He also has provided pro bono legal advice to a private group seeking to establish a public charter school in the District of Columbia.
