Bio

Graham Dench acts for creditors, debtors and other stakeholders in complex, high-value domestic and cross-border restructurings and refinancings, across a number of industry sectors.

Mr. Dench’s representative experience includes advising:

  • Borr Drilling Limited in connection with amendments to certain of its financing agreements with secured lenders of multiple debt facilities representing more than US$1.5 billion of debt, and a related US$30 million offering of depositary receipts
  • Markel CATCo Reinsurance Fund Ltd. and its affiliates on an innovative restructuring implemented under Chapter 15 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and a creditor scheme of arrangement

Prior to joining Skadden, Mr. Dench worked in law for several years, including as part of the financial restructuring practice of another U.S. law firm in London. His notable experience prior to joining Skadden includes acting for:

  • a group of funds as creditors in the insolvency of Marme, a Spanish property SPV
  • a monoline insurer in the restructuring of a U.K. project finance vehicle
  • a fund in the provision of rescue finance to a portfolio company in the oil sector
  • a fund as creditor in the restructuring of the APCOA Parking Group through a U.K. scheme of arrangement
  • a fund in the distressed acquisition of a French steel producer following a French insolvency process
  • the lead creditor in the loan-to-own restructuring of ATU, a car service and repair company, implemented through a U.K. pre-pack, together with the provision of additional post-closing finance
  • the security trustee in the restructuring of a U.K. media group
  • a fund in the provision of rescue finance to the Spain-based Codere Group, an entertainment and gaming company
