Bio

Ms. Grinder has extensive experience guiding clients through all phases of high-stakes litigation — including written discovery, deposition, workup, trial and appeal — and authoring and arguing dispositive motions in state and federal courts. She has significant experience developing and preparing trial narratives from the outset of litigation to a jury verdict. Accordingly, she has led the preparation of key witnesses for deposition and trial testimony in bellwether cases, presented at mock jury exercises and prepared the trial cross-examinations of expert witnesses. She has also assisted with preparing opening statements and closing arguments, developing facts and trial strategy from litigation outset, and selecting bellwether trial candidates.

Beyond litigation, Ms. Grinder has experience providing regulatory compliance and risk management advice to pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, as well as in guiding clients in response to civil investigative demands from state attorneys general.

Prior to joining Skadden, Ms. Grinder practiced at another global law firm. Her representative matters included:

  • serving on a trial team that secured a defense verdict in a suit claiming personal injuries related to Roundup use
  • serving on trial teams that secured defense verdicts in suits claiming personal injuries related to a medical device
  • defending a multinational food and beverage corporation in coordinated state court proceedings and federal multidistrict litigation alleging failure to warn and design defect
  • defending a major pharmaceutical company in multidistrict litigation alleging failure to warn
