Bio

Teddy Grodek advises companies across a wide range of industries on lobbying, campaign finance, and gifts and entertainment compliance at the federal, state and local levels. Mr. Grodek regularly assists clients in navigating pay-to-play rules, including those involving financial services that are covered by SEC Rule 206(4)-5 and MSRB Rule G-37. He also counsels clients and their employees who are entering or returning from government service on laws and regulations related to conflicts of interest, financial disclosure and divestment, blind trusts and “revolving door” restrictions.

Mr. Grodek conducts internal investigations concerning political activities, frequently engages with regulators at the federal, state and local levels, and counsels clients that are facing enforcement actions and audits. Additionally, he advises clients on developing robust policies and procedures for their political activities and assists in establishing corporate PACs. He also counsels clients in connection with their interactions with politically active nonprofits, including 501(c)(4) organizations and trade associations.

Mr. Grodek serves as the editor of the annual “Lobbying Update on Legislation and Litigation, United States and Canada” presentation at a yearly conference held by the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL), an international nongovernmental organization of public agencies that promotes and counsels on government initiatives involving campaign finance, ethics and lobbying. He is also the co-author of Practising Law Institute’s Corporate Political Activities Deskbook.
