Aryan Moniri represents clients in developing, financing, acquiring and selling energy and infrastructure projects, both in the U.S. and internationally.


Mr. Moniri's recent representations include:

  • Talen Energy and certain subsidiaries in connection with their secured credit facilities;
  • SunEdison, TerraForm Power, TerraForm Global and their subsidiaries in connection with more than $4 billion in secured corporate credit facilities;
  • Pattern Energy Group LP in connection with the $205 million financing of the 122MW Conejo solar project in Chile;
  • Pattern Energy Group LP (Pattern Development) in financings totaling over $1 billion for two Broadview wind farms and the Western Interconnect transmission line. Located in New Mexico and Texas, the wind farms have a combined capacity of 324MW and will be serviced by the 35-mile, 345-kilovolt transmission line;
  • subsidiaries of SunEdison in connection with various renewable energy “warehouse” credit facilities, including a $280 million term loan facility used to purchase a portfolio of wind projects from Atlantic Power;
  • First Solar in connection with the $290 million financing of the 141MW Luz del Norte solar project in Chile;
  • subsidiaries of SunEdison in connection with numerous international project financings, including in Chile, India, Israel, Jordan and South Africa;
  • Mizuho in connection with the project financing of the 242MW Birchwood power station in Virginia;
  • Peru LNG S.R.L. in the financing of its $3.8 billion LNG export project in Peru, including $2.05 billion in senior secured financing provided by the International Finance Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, The Export-Import Bank of Korea, SACE S.p.A Servizi Assicurativi del Commercio Estero and a syndicate of commercial banks, a $200 million bond offering in Peru, and a $75 million senior secured working capital facility;
  • developers in negotiating turbine supply and EPC contracts for the development of gas-fired facilities in the United States;
  • InterGen N.V. and China Huaneng Group in connection with the AU$467 million refinancing of the Millmerran Power Station, an 840MW, coal-fired power plant located in Queensland, Australia;
  • Samchully Asset Management Co., Ltd. in its $170 million acquisition from Marathon Oil Corp. of a 34 percent interest in the Neptune Gas Processing Plant in Louisiana; and
  • lenders, borrowers and investors in sports-related transactions, including financings for the Detroit Tigers, the Houston Astros and the Minnesota Vikings.
