On February 28, three high-profile deals involving real estate investment trusts were announced. Skadden played a lead role in these matters, which included our representing:
- Centro Properties Group in the sale of its U.S. shopping centers to Blackstone Group LP for an enterprise value of approximately $9.4 billion.
- Nationwide Health Properties, Inc. in its $7.4 billion acquisition by Ventas, Inc. The deal will create one of the largest publicly traded REITs and the leading health care REIT by equity value.
- Genesis HealthCare in the $2.4 billion acquisition of the majority of its real estate assets by Health Care REIT, Inc.
