Skadden secured the dismissal of a €1 billion claim against the Slovak Republic by Dutch company HICEE B.V. This is the largest dispute ever brought against the Slovak Republic. On October 17, the tribunal accepted Skadden’s argument that the Dutch-Slovak bilateral investment treaty was not applicable and dismissed the claim in its entirety.
