Skadden secured a motion to dismiss in a case involving claims brought by Westlake Services LLC in connection with alleged anti-competitive behavior of firm client Credit Acceptance in various purported "e-commerce software" markets. On December 7, Judge S. James Otero of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California dismissed Westlake's claims without prejudice, noting in his ruling that "sanctions may issue" if the plaintiffs amend their complaint and it is "similarly devoid of factual allegations sufficient to support their causes of action."
