Skadden has announced that highly distinguished practitioner Sophie Lamb KC will join the firm’s International Litigation and Arbitration Group in London, further reinforcing Skadden’s exceptional capabilities across high-stakes cross-border arbitrations, investment treaty disputes and complex commercial litigation.
With more than 25 years of experience litigating before international tribunals and courts, Ms. Lamb KC joins the firm as a partner. She is renowned for her powerful advocacy in “bet-the-company” arbitrations and complex litigation and has advised boards of public companies, sovereign states, private equity houses and major corporates across sectors, including energy, infrastructure, technology and financial services. Her practice spans corporate and commercial arrangements, international investment law, public law and climate litigation, and she has been at the forefront of some of the most topical class actions and parent company responsibility cases in recent years.
Ms. Lamb KC has appeared as advocate twice in the U.K. Supreme Court and has conducted cases under principal arbitration rules, including UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICC, ICSID, HKIAC, SIAC, AAA-ICDR and Swiss Rules. She also sits on the London Court of International Arbitration and is a bencher of Gray’s Inn. Ms. Lamb KC previously served as global co-chair of her prior firm’s International Arbitration Practice and represented the U.K. on the ICC International Court of Arbitration until 2022.
