Skadden lawyers were recognized with shout-outs in The AmLaw Litigation Daily’s Litigator of the Week series for two significant victories in antitrust class actions. These wins were among 10 litigation victories the firm secured in just six days. The antitrust representations were:
- Amadeus Hospitality and its parent company, Amadeus IT Group, SA (together, Amadeus), in the dismissal with prejudice of an antitrust class action complaint against Amadeus and the operators of eight luxury hotel brands, alleging that the defendants engaged in an anticompetitive information-sharing conspiracy through their use of Amadeus’ benchmark platform Demand360. The Skadden team included Karen Lent, Matthew Martino, Amy Van Gelder and Sammuel Auld.
- Columbia University in the Second Circuit’s affirmance of the dismissal of a putative antitrust class action alleging Columbia and the other members of the Ivy League reduced or eliminated competition by agreeing among themselves not to provide athletic scholarships. The Skadden team included Ms. Lent and Ms. Van Gelder.
