Palo Alto executive compensation and benefits partner Joseph Yaffe and Washington, D.C. corporate partner Brian Breheny presented the firm's fourth annual proxy seminar on December 12. "Preparing for the 2013-14 Proxy Season" was held in Palo Alto and streamed nationwide via a concurrent webcast. Panelists reviewed the prior proxy season with an eye toward lessons for the current season, focusing on the executive compensation and shareholder activism issues that continue to dominate the proxy season agenda.
The proxy seminar kicked off a three-event, firmwide corporate governance seminar series. "Shareholder Activism and Engagement" was the topic of a January 14 seminar in New York and "Disclosure Challenges" will be held on February 13 in Washington, D.C.
