On May 5, Skadden presented its “Cross-Border M&A and Corporate Compliance Strategy Conference,” held in New York. This annual program is organized by New York counsel Hiroshi Sarumida. More than 100 people attended this year’s seminar. Presented primarily in Japanese, the program took place in three parts:

  • Global M&A — Trends and Practical Observations: Current Trends, and Tips for Japanese Companies to Execute Successful M&A Cross-Border Transactions
  • Avoiding Pitfalls of U.S. Antitrust Regulations: Enforcement Landscape, Preventive Measures and the Impact on Cross-Border M&A
  • Live Case Study of a U.S. M&A Transaction: A Simulation Presented by Skadden M&A Lawyers and Specialists

In addition to Mr. Sarumida, Skadden speakers included partners Alec Chang, Nobuhisa Ishizuka, Mitsuhiro Kamiya, Thomas Kennedy, James Keyte, Kenton King, Michael Mies, Allison Schneirov and Kenneth Wolff; and counsel Tara Reinhart and Malcolm Tuesley. Guest speakers included Ryo Eguchi of KPMG LLP and Hideki Hayashihara of Nomura Securities International, Inc.
