Ready, Set, Arbitrate: The Ins and Outs of Sports Arbitration

Gregory A. Litt

New York international litigation and arbitration partner Gregory Litt and associate Kate Porter spoke at “Ready, Set, Arbitrate: The Ins and Outs of Sports Arbitration,” a program that was presented by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce on June 13 in Skadden’s New York office. Mr. Litt made introductory remarks. Ms. Porter participated in the panel discussion, which explored the intersection of sports law and commercial arbitration, with a particular focus on the ways in which practitioners can leverage commercial arbitration experience in sports-related cases. The panel also examined recent landmark decisions by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, including the case of Caster Semenya, which has put a spotlight on sports arbitration and ignited a debate about human rights, gender and ethics.
