On June 24, Skadden’s London office hosted the Fortify London Cyber and Privacy Summit, which brought together senior U.K. government officials and key industry leaders from AI research labs and Fortune 500 companies for panel discussions and a live cyberattack tabletop exercise. Panels included:
- “Privacy Litigation: What the U.S. Experience Means for the U.K.,” which examined emerging litigation trends in the United States and the lessons they hold for businesses operating in the United Kingdom. London international litigation and arbitration partner Nicholas Adams and New York class actions and mass arbitration partners Michael McTigue and Meredith Slawe participated in the panel.
- “The Evolving Framework,” which offered an inside look at the latest developments across online safety, GDPR and AI, among other areas. London national security partner Nicola Kerr-Shaw participated in the panel.
- “Current Threats,” which explored how to navigate the current threat environment, including the new National Cyber Action Plan. Cybersecurity and data privacy co-head David Simon participated in the panel.
External speakers included representatives from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology; Mandiant; and Ofcom.
