In addition to efforts targeting “add-on” fees in the auto industry and addressing unwanted subscriptions, the FTC issued a notice of proposed rulemaking for its Trade Regulation Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees, which would broadly ban — without limitation to particular industries — unfair or deceptive fees.
